Charlotte Lanning Vrethammar

My background in the breed started in 1971 when my family bought our first Beardie, Bifrosts Bianca. My current dogs are all 9-11 generations down from her.

I lived in the U.S. between 1994 and 2009. I was not on the board of any Beardie club during that time but was responsible for arranging herding instinct tests in Chicagoland Bearded Collie Club. Here in Sweden I have been on the board of the Swedish Club since the mid 80’s, pretty much consistently since then, except for a year here and there as well, of course with a 15 year long break when I lived in the U.S. I have served as president, done the club magazine and am currently the chair for breeders education and health committee. I wrote a book about the breed in Swedish, published in 1994.

I also hold two positions outside of the Beardie world – as an officer of the Swedish Kennel Club and also an officer of the Swedish Dog Breeders’ Association.
